Crystal was admitted into St.David's Hospital in Georgetown Texas around four a.m. She was at that time diagnosed with sever pneumonia. Once admitted she was started on an oxygen mask and the baby was monitored. At 6:00 pm they began to prep her for transfer to St.David's Main in Austin. When she arrived at the hospital they immediately intubated so that they could start her on 100% oxygen. We were then told that she had developed a disease known as Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. She was placed in the Intensive Care Unit, a nurse continued to watch them around the clock, monitoring everything that occurred. We were told at that time that the odds of her surviving this were 40%. Because she is a young woman her chances of recovering were increased but being pregnant decreased those chances. It was basically a waiting game at this point. The entire time Crystal was teetering on the brink her little body was preserving that baby perfectly. Her little heart beat stayed strong at around 150 most of the time.

We are on day 22 now and guess what...your strong will, your thoughts of your family, your beautiful baby girl and a WORLD of people praying for you are right by your side...not to mention the most important contributor of miracles...GOD. If there was ever a time that your loved ones pulled together as one, now would be the time. If ever there was a time that you questioned anything, now is the time to feel all the love that so many people have for you. Never doubt how much you are valued. Never doubt how much you are loved as a daughter, a friend, a confidant, a Wife, a Mother....Because you are valued so highly in this life. I am so blessed to have met you, grow with you, watch you. I am proud of you. Your father is proud of you. If there is one person in this life that will stand beside you, to protect you and love you no matter what; it is your father. Although your mother could not be by your side, know that you were in her every thought. There is something about a mother and her child. That is something that no one can take away. She has been by your side regardless of the circumstance just as your father. We will see you very soon baby girl. Bless you and may God keep you in the palm of his hands. May he heal you and bring you back to us so that we can begin again.
